If you’re reading this, chances are that you’re already doing most things right. By adding a few simple tools and techniques to your repertoire, however, you can take your business to the next level of profits and growth.
Paul Clifton first came to the industry’s attention after being awarded National Salesman of the Year in the 90’s, pipping nearly 50 other companies – and hundreds of salespeople – to the post. Subsequently, Paul’s book, What Master Salesmen Know that Average Salesmen Don’t, sold the entire print run of 5,000 copies by word of mouth, and for good reason.
Renowned for his industry sales expertise, Paul has, for the last three decades, consistently converted eight out of ten window and conservatory-related quotes into sales – from both reactive and proactive lead sources. To this day, he still sells every week (in a training capacity) on home appointments with companies and salespeople that he is ‘coaching to competence’, in his unique customer-friendly and compelling quotation system.
His unique training style, industry-specific sales knowledge and customer-friendly approach have, over the years, helped thousands of home improvement companies see their profits soar as a result of improved ‘quote-to-sale’ conversions.
You can either have a one-day sales training session at your premises or local venue, or you can subscribe to regular long-term training, including accompanied visits with Paul on real-life appointments. Typically, we work with our installer clients for one day a month on a long-term basis. This time is necessary to master the forms, acquire the sales aids and perfect the communication skills necessary to give customers an experience that your cheaper competitors can’t begin to compete with!
Customers do love to buy, but they hate being sold to. This is why Paul’s unique system allows your customers to buy without any of the stereotypical ‘salesmanship’, ‘large discounts’ or ‘gift of the gab’. In fact, many of our customers, who now convert 60-80% of their quotes into sales, are ex-fitters – they don’t see themselves as salespeople at all. In addition, American research shows that most of the top-performing sales converters possess a personality style called ‘interested introverts’. By comparison, the ‘interesting extroverts’ who are the ‘life and soul of a party type’, perform reasonably well but rarely make it into the top 10%. In other words, the ‘quiet and helpful nice guys’ totally outperform the talkative charmers! In fact those who think that they are not the salesperson type are the best people to visit customers as todays wise buyers ‘love to buy, but hate being sold to’.
At the end of the day, we want to make you money rather than cost you money. We also believe in accumulating before speculating, not speculating to accumulate. So to afford Paul without affecting cash flow nearly all of our monthly clients increase their prices by 0.5%-3% (depending on turnover), which is too small for your customers to notice or put them off, but large enough to cover our long term monthly training program. This way, your training costs are paid for in advance by your customer’s while we set to work transforming your sales, profits and cash flow. For one-day workshops or consultancy, we charge a day rate which we’re happy to discuss over the phone or face to face.
Yes, most of our current and past clients will happily talk to you.
